HOW TO BECOME A HIGH-SPEED POLITICAL OPERATIVE ON A LOW-RENT BUDGET In 2004 America saw, for the first time, how effective an individual can be in influencing the political process. In response to the lies of John Kerry, one man in Washington, DC, put up a personal display that clearly demonstrated that Kerry had made a career out of lying. How effective was this man (Tony Snesko by name)? I personally watched him change the minds of two Kerry voters as he engaged passers-by in conversation. Tony led the way; Vietnam Vets for the Truth (VVT) implemented the concept with unprecedented success. Stand by; Operation Street Corner (OSC) is going to operate the same program against Barack Hussein Obama. Already a number of 2004 OSC’ers have asked if we are going to do it again, and I never was one to say “No!” to dedicated patriots. So here we go. What follows is a brief description of the program, along with a few hints about setting up your own display. The program is centered on its website: www.operationstreetcorner.org. On that site are a number of folders with labels like “Cartoons;” “Broadside Material;” “Fact Sheets;” and the like. Within those folders are documents that can be downloaded, printed, and posted on homemade display boards. Once you have registered, you will have access to all of the download folders by using the Document Manager which appears on a "Members Only" menu. How does one make an effective display? A standard one consists of a large cardboard box (e.g., a refrigerator box or a wardrobe box) that is slit on one corner and opened out to form a four-panel display. Each display is different and reflects the priorities and artistic tastes of its producer. As more material is accumulated from OSC’ers in the field, folders will be updated, so displays may be changed, as well. For ideas, look at the photographs taken during Operation Street Corner 2004. Then use your own imagination in creating your own OSC display. Where should you set up your display? That, too, is up to your imagination (and local ordinances). It can literally be set up on a street corner, as well as a parking lot, a park, or in front of your own home. Some people have made mobile OSC displays in the bed of a pickup truck. As OSC is developed in the coming weeks, there will be more suggestions and guidance. Please let us know what is happening on YOUR corner! Good luck! |
